Meet the Logwood Dressage Team

The horses at Logwood Dressage receive the highest level of care. Our experienced members of staff work closely with the vets, farriers, physiotherapists, dental technicians and trainers to ensure all are kept in peak physical condition. Dressage is not only our 'occupation' it is our passion!

Hilary Miller
Head Groom and Rider

Hilary joined us in November 2015 with a wealth of experience in both the breeding and training industry. Prior to working at Logwood Dressage, Hilary was the acting Head Groom at Country Farm Stud where she worked with a large number of stallions, mares and foals. She then moved to Trevor Hemmings' race yard where she had the privilege of riding the Grand National winner, Ballabriggs.

Hilary has great plans for her own horses, 7 years old Et Macho and a 3 year old mare, Biradale Superstition, who will be backed this year.

In addition, Hilary will be showcasing several of our young horses at the Young Horse classes.

Gabi McGreavey
Working Pupil
Becky Moody
Trainer

Becky represented Great Britiain at four Under 21 Championships, with the team winning the bronze medals in 2000 and 2001. She went on to be the PSG and Int 1 National Champions, before making her senior international debut at Soley CDI where she once again finished best of the Brits in second plave in all three small tour classes. Since this time, Becky has gone on to win numerous titles both with the advanced horses but also within the Young Horse classes.

Becky comes to Logwood Dressage on a monthly basis to help both Rebecca and Gemma with the horses that are in ridden work, and is a constant support throughout their progress. Rebecca also travels to Becky's yard once a month for more intense training.

Gareth Hughes
Trainer

Over the past 10 years Gareth has amassed more than 30 National and International wins and Small Tour and Grand Prix, both in the UK and abroad. He represented Great Britain at the Nations Cup in Rotterdam in 2012, was short listed for the 2011 European Championships and long listed for the London 2012 Olympic Games. The greatest accolade was to come when in 2013, Gareth was part of the Bronze Medal winning team at the FEI European Dressage Championships in Herning, capping off an already phenomenal year, where he was already the winner of two nation cup team competitions. He then represented Great Britain at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in 2014 putting in a great performance to help secure the team a Silver Medal.

Rebecca organises the Lancashire Dressage Clinics with Gareth.

Mark Gilliver
Farrier

Mark is a very important member of our team and keeps all of our horses in peak soundness, which as many horse owners know, is no easy task. Mark specialises in remedial shoeing and is very passionate about his work.

David Aldington
Reproduction Vet
BVSc MRCVS

David's ambition of setting up a new practice dedicated entirely to horses and employing only "horsey" people was achieved in 2005 when Aldington Equine Vets was founded.
David started the practice with one other part time vet but it soon expanded and now employs five full time vets. He has been nominated twice for Petplan Equine Vet of the Year and is registered with the Joint Measuring Board as an Official Measurer and has acted as a senior referee in official re-measurements.
Over the years, he has gained experience in most aspects of equine veterinary medicine by treating a wide range of patients from pet ponies to high level competition horses and by attending regular training and development courses. His special interests are in stud medicine and artificial insemination. He has maintained his interest in preventive medicine including equine dentistry and disease prevention.
